I bought the Bic Hybrid 4 Advance Razor. I wouldn’t be able to tell you if it offers a good shave or not, because I can’t get the damn blade to attach to the handle. The parts just don’t match up. What a piece of frustrating crap!

I just got the hybrid 4 and am experiencing the same problem…going on one hour trying to attach the damn thing. I’ve looked on youtube but all i could find were bic commercials about the razor! This sucks!

I actually prefer this razor. It’s simple, doesn’t cut tooo deep that it takes off face, and my skin feels smooth. It may be te orange plastic part I like. I’ve been a user of Gillette Mach 3 turbo for years but the replacement blades are just too expensive.

Same here actually. Nothing wrong with the Mach 3 except the blade price. The BIC works really well for me. Just used my first one today. And I am not sure why anyone would have trouble attaching the blades…. worked first time for me… well aside from me fitting it upside down first time. It was a simple fit though. Think I’ll be sticking with this one. Great value.

The absolute worst razor. Be prepared to bleed, blades are ridiculously dull. “Cool” Black and Decker-like colors don’t disguise this piece of trash. Too embarrassed to take them back to the store, buried them in the trash and resolved not to buy Bic stuff again.

HOW TO INSTALL BLADE ON BIC HUBRID 3
You must take black plastic off the head where the blade goes in order to install blade.

I took that off a long time ago. Do you install the razor from the bottom or top?

I was looking up reviews on this particular razor for a friend. I went to Denver to visit her and bought this razor because i had forgotten mine at home. I left the razor in Denver. My friend used the razor with a new cartridge. She showed me the injury to her leg. This razor took off a large section of skin up her leg. Don’t buy this razor!!!

lol… sounds like there might be few different batches out there.. Hybrid 4 shaves me perfectly, and no hassle at all fitting the blades.

I started using this razor this week. It is certainly not on the level of Gillette cartridges. This is meant to be a disposable and not those, anyway. I have not cut myself after four shaves. I was usually good for a nick or two a week with Schick and Gillette disposables. Whiskers build up between the blades after three shaves so it’s important to clear them. Hard to do, but if you can, you can probably get quite a few close shaves out of it. The razors are fine. Try a different angle and be more careful if you’re cutting yourself.

I’m kind of nonplussed with the negative reviews. I’m a sailor in the US Navy and I have to shave every day. I was using the Gillette Mach 3, but got tired of $30 for replacement cartridges that last 2 weeks each. A friend suggested Bic Hybrid 4. Since I discovered there’s little difference between a 3 bladed razor and a 4+ bladed razor, I went for the Bic Hybrid 3 which is two dollars cheaper. For $7.99, I got a closer shave than with the Mach 3. I’m on week three and still on the same cartridge and I still get a very close shave.

Perhaps they re-engineered the razor since the review was published. I had no trouble installing the cartridge.
